Celebrating Orphan's Day in Giza Zoo

Since 2006, it has been a Giza Zoo tradition to celebrate Orphan's Day on a yearly basis; hosting children and NGOs caring for orphans in an atmosphere full of warmth and compassion from Giza Zoo staff participating in the event.

Giza Zoo celebrated the day in the education center on Wednesday, April 9th 2014, to put a smile on their faces. Dr. Essam El Battawy – Giza Zoo General Manager and Dr. Ragy Toma – Wildlife General Manager launched the celebration with a welcome word from Dr. Fatma Tammam, Undersecretary of State for Egyptian Zoos & Wildlife Conservation, followed by a zoo animal cartoon movie.

Gifts like hats, purses, wallets and stationeries in addition to sweets and toys were donated to the kids.

By the end of the celebration the kids visited the Reptile house and the playground then a Zoo free tour.
